Are your Pierre Jeanneret Chairs handmade?

Aftercare
How do I care for my furniture?
Teak and rattan cane furniture require specific care to maintain their beauty and longevity. Follow these guidelines for optimal maintenance.
Teak Aftercare
Teak is low-maintenance due to its natural oils. Dust regularly with a dry cloth. If dry, apply teak oil or organic beeswax to restore its luster.
Rattan Cane Aftercare
Avoid extreme pressure on rattan weaves to prevent damage. Be cautious of clothing snagging on the weave. Use a seating pad for added comfort and protection.
What are the do’s and don’ts?
- Do: Protect furniture from direct sunlight and rain, as rattan is susceptible to weathering.
- Don’t: Expose teak or rattan to harsh elements. Use a seating pad to protect the chair base.
What if my furniture needs repair?
Our team specializes in rattan cane restoration and can handle repairs, from minor fixes to museum-quality restorations. We manage collection, repair, and return logistics. Contact info@studiobotanica.ch for support.
Does a warranty cover my products?
We offer a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects and material failure, effective from delivery. The warranty excludes normal wear and tear on textiles, fabrics, or rattan cane. Customized items beyond standard options are non-returnable. Email info@studiobotanica.ch for warranty inquiries.
Sustainability
Is your wood ethically and sustainably sourced?
Yes, we use aged, recycled teak from demolished colonial-era buildings in India, ensuring no living trees are harmed. This 70–90-year-old timber enhances durability and showcases beautiful wood grain.
Does your workshop follow safe practices?
Our Mumbai workshop prioritizes safety, providing a well-lit, ventilated, and spacious environment for artisans to work comfortably and securely.
Quality Assurance
Is furniture inspected before shipping?
Every piece undergoes rigorous inspection for:
- Craftsmanship: Ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Stability: Verifying secure component assembly.
- Durability: Testing for long-term wear resistance.
- Finish: Checking for smooth, even finishes.
- Color: Ensuring consistent, uniform color.
- Pests: Inspecting for termites or other damage-causing insects.
If a piece doesn’t meet these standards, it’s not approved for sale.
What quality assurance measures are in place?
Our quality assurance process includes:
- Manufacturing: Master carpenters and workshop managers inspect components for quality, repairing or replacing defective items.
- Packaging: High-quality materials protect against moisture, pressure, and temperature extremes during shipping.
- Customer Satisfaction: We address quality concerns promptly and amicably. Contact info@studiobotanica.ch with any issues.
